*A little confused about her walking off after her vague speech, Ken wanders back towards his Auror colleagues.*
*He accepts her excuse for wanting to hide her past from him, but still wonders what she could be hiding, and indeed how she has come by the rare skill it takes to hide her thoughts from someone so well trained as he.*
*His suspicions heightened about what the ball is really about he speaks to Kingsley and Remus.*
An odd girl that one. We should keep an eye out tonight. I wonder what Lucius is planning.

*Having left the wine he had brought with him on the bar, and taken a sample of some of Lucius' more expensive brand, he had begun wandering around the area, taking in the sights of artwork and tapestry and architecture, fascinated and impressed by it all.*
*Upon hearing the call to the buffet, he topped up his glass and made his way out.*

Daphne, you look lovely as always.
*Smiles as Barty comes to her side and then remembers who got invited to the Ball*
*Was about to say something to him when Lucius pulled him aside*
*Watches as the two men talk and sighs as Barty leaves hoping he'll return*
*Looks at her two friends as they ask her who Barty was and looks stunned at them*
*Whispers back so only they could hear*
You mean you didn't recognise him? That was Barty Crouch Jnr. He's in bad shape lately as his wife has recently died and he thinks he has nothing left to live for.

*Beams*
Thank you, Millie!
*Listens to her friend's explanation and gasps, raising a hand to her mouth, whispers back*
That's awful! Poor Mr. Crouch...
*Stares at the spot he disappeared from sympathetically*
*Smiles, genuinely now, pleased that things are taking a better course than usual*
Thank you very much. As do you! Your dress is beautiful. And I've been taken care of on that front!
*Laughs and raises the glass that Grimley gave her when she entered*
But thank you for offering.
*Contemplates briefly how much she should say, and decides to be somewhat vague, though truthful*
I've been... better. Though, not terrible. Teddy's doing wonderfully, but Dora...
*Trails off, not wanting to mention that her daughter was kidnapped recently, and that her son-in-law is planning a suicidal rescue mission*
..And yourself? How have you been?
*Swirls her glass of wine, teeth bite the inside of her lip*
Teddy? Oh yes your grandson, Teddy. Ah, What a shame...Your daughter was always a spirited one. So I am told. I have been doing well, Draco is becoming a man.
A little to quickly for my tastes. I do so worry....
But I shall worry no more. Not after tonight. It is why Lucius and I threw this party. To bury the past....
*A grin spreads across her face*
And all the ugliness be hide us.
*Looks over the crowd for Lucius wanting to keep an eye on him.*

It is a shame Dora could not attend.
*Nods, smiling*
I'm glad to hear it. Though I know what you mean; they do grow far too fast, it seems. And thank you, I'll... be certain to tell her so.
